Specialised Cleaning Services

There are some cleaning jobs you can’t afford to ignore, even if they’re out of sight. Air ducts, range hoods and even your carpet can harbour unhealthy accumulations of grease, germs and dirt. Unsightly, even unsafe, there’s no reason not to tackle them with Steamatic’s specialised cleaning services.

Air Duct Cleaning

Could the air you breathe be making you sick?

On average, we spend about 90 percent of our time indoors. We want our homes and office buildings to be energy efficient to keep running costs down. But, in an effort to seal the air out, we are also sealing the air in. The effects can have serious health consequences.

Did you know indoor air can be up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air?

Research shows that indoor pollutants such as dust mite waste, mould, mildew, animal dander, insect waste, and tobacco smoke have been strongly associated with increased respiratory illnesses for people with asthma and allergies.

Biological pollutants like these promote poor indoor air quality and may be a major cause of days lost from work and school. In office buildings, heating, cooling and ventilation systems are frequent sources of biological substances which, when inhaled, can lead to breathing problems.

Steamatic's state-of-the-art equipment, methods and technology help clean and decontaminate air duct systems, as well as reduce the levels of bacteria, mould and viruses from carpets, fabrics and hard surfaces.

In your home. Air duct and coil cleaning performed by experienced Steamatic technicians can improve the indoor air quality in your home. Steamatic's FREE, no-obligation inspection will let know if you're providing the healthiest home environment for your family. Treatment can help reduce future microbial contamination.

In the workplace. Symptoms of 'Sick Building Syndrome' include headaches, fatigue, coughing, sneezing, nausea, nose and throat irritation, blurry eyes and difficulty concentrating.

As a building owner or property manager, you can look to Steamatic for a professional air quality assurance program. If you have an indoor problem, we can provide an accurate diagnosis, make specific recommendations, decontaminate your building and provide on-going consulting services. Steamatic can also assist you with scheduled inspection and maintenance programs to help prevent "Sick Building Syndrome".

Steamatic's process removes odours as it reduces dust and other allergens. Removing the build up of dirt, blockages and debris in your ductwork can also improve airflow increasing heating and cooling efficiency and lowering energy costs.

Carpet Cleaning

Some carpet cleaners would like you to believe cleaning carpets is simply a matter of using detergent, water and vacuuming, but it's simply not true. Could you imagine washing your car without rinsing the soap off? The soap would leave a sticky film that would actually attract dirt faster. Now imagine that film left in your carpets.

Estimates show that 80% of all soil in your carpet is brought in from outdoors. Dirt, pollen, bacteria, dust mite waste, spores are drawn to your carpet like a magnet. These contaminants can cause serious health hazards like allergies and upper respiratory infections.

Most major carpet manufacturers recommend the hot water extraction method to maintain your warranty and extend the life of your carpeting. Steamatic's patented cleaning equipment uses hot water soil extraction to clean your carpet and furniture without soap or harsh chemicals.

Steamatic uses super heated water and an emulsifier to remove dirt and debris at the molecular level. Our unique, patented equipment delivers the super-heated water to your carpeting as hot as when it leaves the unit. Our powerful vacuums then extract the dirt and water leaving your carpet clean and decontaminated. Your carpet is clean all the way to the base of the fibre.

Other methods using mechanical scrubbing action, shampoo, "dry" carbonated chemicals, and dry granular compounds leave problems and dirt behind. Rotary brush or mop cleaning can; cause pile distortion and flaring, leave a sticky residue causing your carpet to rapidly re-soil, remove only the surface dirt and the rest is pushed deeper into the carpet, and your carpet is not sanitised by these methods.

Oriental and area rugs are our specialty. The rugs are removed and cleaned in our dedicated facility. They are delivered to you clean and dry. If the carpets are cleaned in place they can mildew, bleed through and damage the carpet or hardwood flooring underneath.

Steamatic can also assist you with scheduled maintenance programmes to keep your home and office clean and deodorised.

Steamatic will give you our estimate up front, in writing with no hidden charges, before we begin work.

Dry Ice Cleaning

The environmentally sensitive way to clean with perfect results, no residue and minimal downtime.

Steamatic has always been an innovator in introducing new technologies that set a benchmark for performance, and our latest service is no different.

Dry Ice blasting is an extraordinary innovation in cleaning and remediation. From delicate machine parts to hard surfaces, mildew remediation to degreasing, our dry ice blasting service is flexible and adaptable.

Unlike older methods of blasting such as sand and bead blasting, dry ice blasting has several key advantages:

  • There is minimal clean-up and no residue. This is because the blasting medium is dry ice crystals. They effectively strip the surface to be cleaned, and immediately revert to gas after hitting the surface. The result is no blasting medium clogging the immediate atmosphere and no additional clean-up. This means less downtime and lower maintenance costs.
  • Steamatic dry ice blasting is remarkably flexible. From the most degraded, corroded or dirty industrial surface, to delicate timber and ‘soft’ surfaces, dry ice blasting can be adapted for almost any cleaning or remediation requirement.
  • A perfect finish. Unlike some traditional abrasive cleaning and blasting methods, dry ice blasting leaves no residue within the surface being cleaned. The dry ice particles are ‘shot’ onto the surface at high speed, embedding into the surface material and expanding at great speed to its gaseous state. This expansion effectively ‘blows apart’ the surface material, removing it from the item being treated.

Dry ice has unique properties that cannot be matched by other abrasive treatment methods. Because the dry ice particles change instantly from solid to gas as they impact a surface, they do not become ‘wet’ which makes dry ice blasting suitable for cleaning delicate equipment, electrical componentry and moisture sensitive work spaces.

There are a wide range of commercial and industrial applications for Steamatic dry ice cleaning, including:

  • Tooling clean-up and preparation
  • Adhesive and paint removal
  • Equipment degreasing
  • Painted surface preparation
  • Corrosion and rust removal
  • Mould and mildew remediation
  • Hard and soft surface cleaning
  • Graffiti removal from almost any surface

Gamma Radiation Cleaning

Gamma Irradiation is a physical means of sterilisation or decontamination. Put simply, it kills bacteria. Gamma Irradiation kills bacteria by breaking down bacterial DNA and inhibiting bacterial division. Essentially, energy passes through the treated product disrupting the organic processes that cause contamination.

Gamma Irradiation is known as a ‘Cold Process’ as the temperature of the item being treated doesn’t significantly increase. It is not dependent on humidity, temperature, vacuum or pressure.

Gamma Irradiation cleaning should be considered for items heavily soiled by organic waste, including fabrics, organic and non-organic goods, and any item that could continue to harbour biological contamination, where complex structures make conventional cleaning ineffective, or where conventional cleaning processes are unlikely to arrest continued infection.

Gamma Irradiation offers high reliability, total penetration, consistent results, is suitable for a wide range of applications, and is totally safe and environmentally friendly.

Hard Surface Cleaning

The Steamatic Turbo vacuum cleaner is designed to clean hard surfaces including stone, ceramic, porcelain, vinyl, quarry and other clay tiles. The low profile design allows cleaning under counters and kick boards and the ‘no scratch’ interface conforms to any surface.

Instead of dissolving dirt, grime and grease by scrubbing or mopping, the Turbo vacuum cleaner uses a high pressure water blaster and vacuum which extracts the slurry and vacuums the dirt away.

The Steamatic process also cleans out ‘micro scratches’ that are marks in all used tiled surfaces that trap dirt and cannot be accessed by the reach of mops or scrubbers.

Kitchen Hood Cleaning

A dirty exhaust system can leave your business in ashes. Don't let this happen to you. If your business involves an exhaust fan system, ask yourself these questions. When was it last cleaned? How you would fare if a lack of adequate cleaning led to closure of your business?

Exhaust fan systems are legally required to be maintained to promote a safe environment. Without adequate care, fan exhaust systems can become:

  • accumulation sites for flammable substances such as cooking fats, grease, lint, etc - in simple terms a fire hazard;
  • breeding grounds for germs. Council and Health Authority inspectors check hoods as part of their inspection process. Uncleaned hoods can mean closure of a business.

With Health and Fire Departments requiring exhaust systems be thoroughly cleaned annually*, the pain could be made all the worse if your insurer denies your claim due to inadequate maintenance of your system. [*Australian Standard 1851.6 - 1997]

The Steamatic treatment looks beyond the obvious visible areas (filter and blades) to meticulously clean the risers (where accessible) and horizontal ducts areas where major accumulation of contaminants occurs.

As part of its service, we will provide:

  • before and after photographs
  • a detailed system diagram for future reference
  • a full report on its condition
  • a certificate of compliance for your records.

Steamatic is the only Australian member of I.K.E.C.A. (International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association).
