A church in Adelaide faced severe water damage after a fire hydrant tap beside the building was deliberately damaged. Thousands of litres of water gushed onto the roof for over five hours, causing a retaining wall to collapse and flooding the church and its storerooms with water and mud. Valuable contents were at risk, and urgent action was required.

The Challenge

With a service scheduled for over 250 parishioners just two days later, time was critical. The church required fast, professional water damage restoration to prevent further damage, content loss, and mould growth.

Our Response

Steamatic Adelaide mobilised immediately, delivering expert water damage restoration services:

  • Rapid water extraction and removal of mud to prevent structural damage.

  • On-site assessment and cleaning of contents, salvaging the majority of items.

  • Advanced drying and dehumidification to reduce the risk of mould.

  • Clear communication and compassionate support during a high-pressure situation.

The Outcome

Thanks to our prompt response, the church was fully restored and ready to host its scheduled service within 48 hours. Only a small number of contents were lost, and there has been no mould development since.

  • Church service held for 250+ parishioners on schedule.

  • Majority of contents were cleaned and salvaged onsite.

  • No mould growth reported.

  • Minimal long-term impact despite extensive initial flooding.
