Vic Roads Graffiti Removal
The Challenge:
Steamatic was called to remove graffiti to three locations on the Geelong Ring Road. The busy freeway connects many commuters every day with peak times varying in both directions throughout the day. This meant that the freeway could not be closed and disruption needed to be kept to a minimum.
The specific location of the graffiti played another part in the complexity of the job, traffic flow would be impacted and needed to be effectively managed. Multiple traffic management vehicles (5 x TMA’s) and access equipment were required to safely complete the works due to the location and height of the graffiti.
Solution Provided:
Planning was effectively carried out and coordinated with the customer, traffic management teams and access equipment supplier. Communication between relevant stakeholders was the key, including site toolbox meetings, relevant risk assessment/SWMS and coordination with two traffic management companies to manage traffic flow safely and efficiently.
The project was completed safely, to customers expectations, on time and within budget.
